Book Review: The Two Towers

Book: The Two Towers (The Lord of the Rings #2) by J.R.R. Tolkien

Source: Library

Rating: 5 stars

My Review:

The Two Towers was even better than the first book. The first and second halves of the book start right where the first ended. The first half focused on Aragorn, Gimli and Legolas as they attempt to find Merry and Peregrin who were abducted by Orcs. The reader also got Merry and Peregrin's side of the story as well. Through their journey the three meet an old friend who they thought had died before they joined up with another kingdom to take up the fight against Saruman the White.  Unknown to the three, Merry and Peregrin were also on their way to fight against Saruman with the Ents.

The last half of the book focused on Frodo and Sam as they try to find their way to the Mordor to destroy the ring. Their journey didn't so well with them constantly being plagued by Gollum but they turned his annoyance against him, which worked out for them at least for some time.

This was great and it was like you got two amazing stories in one book. I can't wait to read the third book.
