Book Review: Happy Cafe vol. #2

My internet is sort of acting up. Hopefully the problem will be fixed soon.

Book: Happy Café volume #2 by Kou Matsuzuki (chapters #6-10)

Rating: 3 stars

Review:

This was really funny.

In volume #2 the three employees of the Happy Café were going up against the Abekawa bakery in a baking challenge issued by the Abekawa brothers Sou and Kashiwa. The challenged had Uru trying to spy on the rival bakery which hilariously didn't work out. Initially the reason the challenge was given was because the Abekawa brothers said the Happy Café was stealing some of their customers. However following the competition the Happy Café employees found out the real reason which sort of ended the rivalry.

In the last chapter the reader got to know a bit more about Uru and her mother (who showed up at the café). I don't think her mother was ready for Uru to be so independent with working and living on her own. It seemed like she showed up to try to get Uru to quit but in the end she had to realize that her daughter wasn't a little girl anymore.

I'm looking forward to reading the third volume. The first two have been a really pleasant read.
