Book Review: Decadent Dreams

Book: Decadent Dreams by A.C. Arthur

Source: Library

Rating: 2 stars (Did Not Finish)

Review:

As a foodie, I loved all the yummy food descriptions for all the desserts but as reader I was a little bored with the story. It focused on main character Belinda Drayson-Jones who was an uptight perfectionist who was starting to tire of living up to all her family's expectations not only at the family's bakery but for her personal life.

Working along side Belinda for the past eight year is Malik Anthony who has been harboring feelings for her. And unbeknownst to Malik, Belinda also has an attraction to him. But because they work together nothing has ever developed between the two of them.

Even though the author wrote that they have worked with each other for years it still felt like insta-love when they got together. It would have been nice if there was more of a build up. The relationship seemed forced to me and there was no really spark or chemistry either.

I like both characters but to me they seem as if they would be better as friends than a couple. I gave up reading the rest of the book because it didn't seem as if the story was going anywhere.
