Review:

This is a cute and really funny book and I love the artwork.

Lola Zuckerman is so tired of being chosen last for everything in her second grade class. So, when it was time for the class to come up with ideas for the Going Green competition and again Lola was last to tell the class her ideas. And by the time it was her turn, all her ideas had already been given. She had to think up another idea (after getting herself in trouble for saying mean things to her former best friend Amanda Anderson), but she did and it ended up being such a good idea that she tied with Amanda for best idea.

This delightful book because Lola is the average kid who's growing and trying to figure out the best way to deal which is good because this book shows kids how they can solve their problems and it dealt with friendship issues between Lola and Amanda. There are a lot of hijinks that happened throughout the book including and food fight in the cafeteria as well as Lola feeling a little jealous does something a little mean to her big brother after he won an award but she does learn her lesson later on.

I think this is a great transition book for kids who may have enjoyed reading the Junie B. Jones books and looking for something a little "older". Oh, and lastly there are some really good and practical going green ideas in the book that kids or anyone can do.
