Book: By Any Means by Chris Culver

Source: Borrowed from Publisher/NetGalley for an honest review

Publication: Available now

Description:

At the end of a particularly grueling summer day, Ash is heading home to his wife and kids when he discovers a pair of bodies, shot execution style, in the front seat of a crashed vehicle. As the first officer on the scene, Ash finds himself and his department 20 minutes behind a killer in a race where every second counts. With two victims down and a third unaccounted for, the clock is ticking and Ash must find the killer before he strikes again.

Rating: 2 stars (Did Not Finish)

Review:

This started out good but I started to loss interest in the story when it kept switching back and forth from the present to the past. The focus on the past for was this character Kostya who was sort of like mob boss and the flashback story would show his life back in the Ukraine and as well as his family's ordeal slightly in the present.

The story would have stayed more interesting if the focus had stayed on Detective Ash Rashid who was trying to find out who murdered a couple in their car and the abduction of a woman who was an innocent bystander trying to help. Although the murder does have a connection with Kostya, the constant attention on his threw the story off.

I started to get bored with the story and decided not to finish reading.
