Description:

Montana real estate agent Quint McCoy will tell you that the most important thing is location, location, location. It's a lesson he learns all too well when he goes incommunicado for a four-week fishing trip to Alaska. While he's away, his mother Molly turns his office into the pie shop she has always dreamed of, Big Sky Pie. But that's not the only surprise in store for him.

On her way out of town, Callee McCoy only wants to say a fond farewell to her beloved mother-in-law. But Molly soon persuades Callee to stay and lend a hand at the new shop, even if it means heating up the kitchen with her soon-to-be ex. As Callee and Quint rediscover their recipe for love, they realize that some couples are so sinfully good together that one delectable taste is never enough . . .

Review:

This was a fun and quick read.

In this story, Quint McCoy was having a hard time dealing with the death of his father and let both his marriage to Callee and his real estate business slide. He took off for an extended fishing trip to Alaska and when he returned home he found there were a few changes he had to deal with.

One, his mother Molly took over the building that housed his real estate business. She had turned it into a pie shop, called Big Sky Pie.

Two, his soon to be ex-wife was still there but she was soon on her way to Seattle.

Three, his home that he put on the market may be sold.

All of those things were a shock to his system but they didn't compare to his mother suddenly collapsing on the floor with a heart attack.

Awaiting surgery, Molly asked both her son and her daughter-in-law if they could run the business for her and get it ready for opening. Callee was hesitant to agree at first but since she didn't want to add to Molly's stress she went ahead and agreed.

Quint and Callee working together had the two realizing that they both still cared for each other as they tried to figure out everything that went with running a pie shop. The author did a good job of creating chemistry between these two but honestly I was starting to get tired of Callee's inner turmoil about Quint. I was annoyed by how indecisive she felt for him. She still loved him but she couldn't make up her mind if she wanted him back or if her love for him was what it should be. And not to mention all the mixed signal she kept giving him throughout the story.
Quint was stubborn and a bit of an idiot for running away but after his mother's health scare he actually changed and realized that it was his own fault that he lost all the things and people he cared about. He did try to work things out with Callee who was still hurt from him leaving.

Despite the ending seeming a bit rushed the book was still pretty good.
