Review:

In this book, the author describes how he accidentally found his way into a career in the fashion industry and his seemingly meteoric rise up the corporate ladder to CEO. He also detailed his rise then unexpected fall followed by his return to the top. Throughout each short chapter, the author gives advice to the reader that might help them in their careers even if they are not in the fashion industry.

This was part memoir and part business/career guide. There is some good advice in this book as well as the author didn't try to hide things, he was honest about his mistakes and how he went from there.

A few lessons from this book:

- Work hard but if you do something you enjoy it will never feel like work.

- Never stop learning.

- Take risks or chances.

- Keep an open mind you never know where the opportunity may take you.

- Don't give up.

- Mistakes happen but it's what you do with them that counts.

- Know when to walk away from a deal or job that doesn't work.

With most business/self-help books I feel that what works for the author is most likely not going to work for the reader. But I do think they generally give good advice but in the end it's up to the reader to figure out what their next step is going to be.
