Is there a madman within the cult? Or is it something far more horrible? Can Department 18 discover the impossible truth and end the spree of murder, insanity and carnage? Or will they become the prey?

Review:

I'm not sure how this qualifies on the horror scale but it's more thriller than scary. When Alice Logan, the niece of Violet Bulmer went missing, Violet asked her old friend Harry Bailey, a detective for Department 18 a government agency set up to investigate psychic and supernatural phenomena, to help look for her.

Prior to going missing Alice's parents had taken her to a rehabilitation clinic to help her detox from the crystal meth she been hooked on. Alice had gotten herself involved with a cult which was lead by the enigmatic Erik Strasser who also introduced her to drugs among other things.

When Alice goes missing from the clinic, Violet contacted her friend Harry to see if he could help locate her. Initially, Harry didn't think Alice's disappearance had anything to do with the supernatural but the more he looked into it, it was turning out to be more than a simple missing persons case.

When the local police find the body of a teen girl with ritualistic wounds, is there a connection between this, the cult, Greek Mythology and Alice's disappearance? As more bodies start turning up including that of main suspect Erik Strasser, the case has quickly changed direction.

Although the story moved along at a fast-pace, I thought the story was just okay not really that engaging. It started out good but then it started to fizzle and become a run of the mill supernatural story but it did have a twist near the end.
