Book 1 Review for Library read-a-thon: The Hobbit

Book: The Hobbit or There and Back Again by J.R.R. Tolkien

Rating: 5 stars

Review:

This was great. A complete adventure. Bilbo never thought about taking any adventures he was content with his life. However, one day he met a strange traveler who turned out to be the wizard Gandalf who set into motion a wonderful thrilling quest that was just what the hobbit needed.

This surprisingly funny story had Bilbo accompanying a party of dwarves as they attempt to reclaim their Kingdom and their wealth that had been sieged by the legendary dragon, Smaug.

The dwarves doubted that Bilbo would be of any use to their endeavors. But what I love is that Bilbo proved not only to them but to himself that he was more than capable of doing great things. Despite his size and initial reluctance to the quest, he turned out to be the bravest, strongest and smartest of them all.

If you are ever looking for a thrilling adventure book, please think of giving The Hobbit a read. It was such an amazing read.
