Review:

This was not a disappointing read at all, it was amazing. The writing was strong and had a superb story.

In this futuristic story, there are no longer any governments but now land is owned and governed by some of the wealthiest families. And each family has a protector or better known as the Lazarus and the Carlyle Family's protector is Forever.

Despite that fact that Forever is the Lazarus she considers herself to be a part of the family but there is something going on that's starting to make her doubt them. In the background, the reader can see how conniving and distrustful (and dysfunctional) the Carlyle Family really is. And all of that just might cost Forever her life.

This was truly an amazing first group of issues. Greg Rucka did an amazing job creating this unique and interesting world that's filled with danger and suspense. I also liked the artwork by Michael Lark it went well with the story.

After the fourth issue there is a short prequel story that sort of introduces the father and gives you a glimpse into their world.

The first volume of Lazarus is totally worth reading especially if you're looking for something different to read.
