Description:

Viv’s ex-fiancĂ©, Rob, proposed to her three months after she slept with him - she thought it was one of those whirlwind romances you read about in magazines. Five years later, after Rob calling off the wedding for the third time, she has finally moved out.

As Viv passes through the three essential stages of grief (denial, vodka, disastrous haircut), she becomes determined that it's not too late to try and get Rob back. One drunken declaration of love at an extremely inappropriate moment later, and Viv's scruffy, tequila-swilling best friend Max is there to pick up the pieces.

Just when Viv’s starting to realise that maybe the real thing has been under her nose all along, she makes what might just be the biggest mistake of her life…

Can love sneak up on us unexpected? What’s the answer to heartbreak? And what’s a girl to do when even the Internet doesn’t have the answer?

Review:

I will admit it, I'm a sucker for cute book covers and I absolutely love the cover. I thought this was going to be a fun read. And boy was I wrong.

This book was so frustrating because I got tired of main character Vivienne Summers constantly whining and obsessing over her ex-boyfriend/fiancĂ© Rob Waters who by the way has created numerous excuses for postponing their wedding. And after postponing their wedding for the third time, he said they needed to take a break. While, Viv was on this break all she did was obsess about Rob and then when she found out he had moved on, once she called him (after a little motivation from her friend Lucy) he told her he was going to be taking someone to their mutual friends' wedding.

I don't know why she's so obsessive over Rob he didn't even have the decency to tell her their break had turned into a break-up. I just find Viv to be so annoying, her whole life revolves around Rob. She has absolutely nothing going for her except her dream of being Mrs. Waters. Not to mention she's in her thirties and acts like a teenager. She's so immature and self-centered. I found it hard to root for her to move on with her life when all she's doing is moping around obsessing over Rob, who's really not a nice guy.

Anyway, she's now all worked up about trying to find the perfect dress, get the perfect hair, etc all so she will look great at the wedding and he'll somehow want her back. Yeah, I get it she wants to look good when she sees him but she was going overboard. And since she didn't want to show up alone, she asked her friend Max to go with her.

Of course it didn't turn out well. And after the wedding her life continued to spiral down into her obsession. She wasn't concentrating on her job or her life, she was just a total mess.

Again, it's really hard to root for her if all she does is obsess over Rob, who really was a jerk. She's also rather stupid and annoying. To get over her pain and obsession she starts hooking up with Max. Again, she's a total flake at her job and decided it was better to make up a lie so she could stay in with Max. Of course something bad was going to result from her lie.

Since, I don't want to ruin the story for anyone who want to read it, I'm not going to say anything more about it. But I will say she does change but it just felt like it was a little too late.

I was so disappointed reading this because there wasn't much of a plot or story other than Viv obsessing over her ex and trying to get him back.
