Review:

In this group of issues Spider-Man had his hands full going up against magical foes and surprisingly getting help from Loki in the first two issues.

In the first story (issues #503-504), Loki's daughter was possessed by the sorceress Morwen and to save her Spider-Man and Loki teamed up. And as expected that team up had problems, Loki's not exactly someone you can trust but that didn't stop the two from enjoying a little down time getting hot dogs (not that Loki enjoyed them).

In issue #505, Mary Jane Watson was having a difficult time trying to enter the world of acting. She wanted to find roles where she could showcase her skills and be taken more seriously. MJ had traveled to L.A. for a big audition but after overhearing some disappointing information, she left. MJ didn't have the heart to tell her husband the truth about how lousy the people were to her. Meanwhile back in NY, Spider-Man was helping the police to stop a bike thief but Peter did more than just stop a thief he stopped a kid from trying to do something bad just to prove to others that he was cool.

The last three issues (#506-508), focused on Ezekiel's trip to NY and told of how he got his powers which were similar in nature to Peter's although he received them through a mystical way. It also continued to focus on Mary Jane's attempts to further her acting career this time with some good advice from May Parker.

Ezekiel's presence in NY was bringing more than just good memories for Peter. A mystical force was stirring up the city and bring out every spider in the city which of course had Spidey's no. #1 fan J. Johan Jameson telling the world that Spider-Man is to blame for the spider's.

I enjoyed this group of stories because no matter what Spider-Man is a hero and he's not used to going up against magical foes but he will try his best to do as much as he can by helping those in need and trying to stop the villain. I also love that in these stories that Mary Jane was given a good amount of focus and not to mention I love the banter between her and Peter.
