Description:

In high school art class, Lois Lane demonstrates her undeniable talent . . . but not for painting.

This is an official teaser short story for the young adult novel LOIS LANE: FALLOUT that takes place before Lois moves to Metropolis.

Rating: 5 stars

Review:

This may be short but it was good. In this story, Lois Lane and her family have recently moved to yet another town (due to her father being in the army) and her first day of school didn't go as well as she hoped. The problem is her art class, well mainly Professor Henry Jacques. Something about him and his artwork doesn't sit right with her.

After a little bit of investigating, she soon figured out what had been bothering her about her art teacher.

This was a good story that had an interesting mystery and it was also funny. I like that the author had a very good understanding of who Lois Lane is. She's smart, snarky and willing to take some risks. I love the scene where the art teacher was asking Lois (who claimed she was an art prodigy because the teacher was just so snooty) what school she was from and her answer (in true Lois form) was "the school of life". I laughed out loud after reading that because that's classic Lois Lane there.

I also like the hint of a friendship between Lois and Clark Kent. However, they only know each other online as SkepticGirl1 and SmallvilleGuy.

If the book Lois Lane: Fallout is anything like this short story then I can't wait to start reading it.
