Most Memorable Moment: Clark Kent Dancing with Lana Lang at the Prom (Smallville)

This was such an interesting prom scene from the Smallville episode Spirit (season 4 episode 18) because there were a wide array of emotions shown from all the characters. From Clark Kent's surprise at seeing Lana Lang to Lana's nervousness of being at the prom. To both Lois Lane and her cousin (still not a fan of this) Chloe Sullivan feeling a little melancholy to Martha and Jonathan Kent's shock melt into happiness to Jason Teague's jealousy at seeing Clark and Lana dancing.

There was just so many emotions in this scene. I always found it interesting that despite Lois saying that she wasn't the one Clark wanted to dance with, you could see on her face after he left that she was experiencing some sort of emotion about it. Perhaps she did want to dance with him. But at that point in time Clark only had feelings for Lana who unfortunately was dating Jason (who in my opinion was using Lana because she had a connection to the stones). Jason might have cared for Lana but he was still using her.

Now back to Lois, the irony of her telling her cousin "You're headed for Metropolis. You are destined to be a big shot reporter at the Daily Planet." Which as we all know, is Lois' destiny. I have to mention that very bright and tacky pink dress and equally tacky earrings that Lois was wearing (maybe I'll do a Fashion Meets Comics for it). That look was so not Lois, however, it was all thanks to Dawn Stiles' ghost who had possessed her. Ugly dress or not at least Dawn did an amazing job with Lois' makeup because that was perfect. The sad thing was that one way or another Dawn was so set on being Prom Queen and she kept possessing different people to try to achieve that. Meanwhile, I just love Lana's complete look, it was very old Hollywood glam. Hair, dress, accessories and makeup, it was all perfect. And Clark had a very nice simple tuxedo that looked great on him.

They really had the perfect song playing with Lifehouse performing their song "You and Me". Because as the scene closes, there's Clark and Lana happily slow dancing without a care in the world not realizing the swirl of emotions all around them. They are just so blissfully unaware. This was just a memorable scene.

Toy Corner: Funko Lois Lane

I may have missed the chance to get the Funko Smallville Lois Lane Figure but I'm going to make sure I get this Superman: The Movie (1978) Lois Lane figure. It's from the scene when Lois first officially interviewed Superman on the balcony of her apartment.

I still find it interesting that this Lois who was played by the late Margot Kidder is still one of the most beloved versions of the character. And she's definitely included on my list of favorite Lois Lanes. She's feisty, loud, independent, sarcastic and has a love of journalism.

I can't remember the last time I bought a Funko but I really want to get this one.

Most Memorable Scene: Lois Lane in the Arctic and Meeting her Mysterious Rescuer (Man of Steel)

Anyone who regularly visits my blog, know that I had quite a few issues with the Man of Steel movie. However, despite it not being one of my favorite movies, there were scenes in the movie that I did like. For instance, this scene of Lois Lane when she went to the Arctic to investigate what the mysterious object that the government had found buried in the ice. Despite being treated rather poorly she didn't let that stop her from being there. And being her usual inquisitive self, she spotted someone walking along the ice cliffs and followed him to see what he was up to. She totally found the most amazing story but who would believe her. Even Editor-in-Chief Perry White didn't believe her because her article read more as sci-fi instead of an actual news story.

Anyway, what I found interesting is that Clark Kent could have easily listened to the advice his paranoid father Jonathan told him and not helped Lois. Especially since she, unlike all the others (minus Pete Ross) he had helped would actually see him using his powers. He didn't know what could happen afterwards such as would his secret still be safe but thankfully he took the chance and saved her. Yes, afterwards she did secretly release the story that Perry wouldn't publish. Which had her on a journey for the truth about her mysterious rescuer but after a bit of soul searching with the truth after tracking down Clark, she decided not to release the in depth information and story she had gathered. The thing is if she had not gone to the Artic for the first story, she never would have uncovered the truth about Clark Kent.

Fandom Friday: Random Fandom Thoughts #44: Superman & Lois, Abbott Elementary and Rescue: Hi-Surf

Happy Friday! Here are a few fandom thoughts that have been on my mind:

- The first two episodes of the fourth season of Superman & Lois are so heartbreaking but oh so good. Lois Lane and her sons Jordan and Jonathan are trying to deal with the death of Superman/Clark Kent while also having to deal with a very vindicative Lex Luthor who is the reason why Superman is dead. I think at some point grief is going to hit Lois hard because right now she's trying to hold it all together but sooner or later she's going to be dealing with it.

I thought Jordan had a good idea of looking for their dad's heart but his twin brother Jon was right that Lex had set a trap. But my thought is that Lex didn't stomp on Clark's heart that was some kind of decoy heart. I believe Clark's heart was in that briefcase or whatever that case or container was that Lex was looking at before Amanda McCoy arrived at Lex's house. I could be wrong but it just seemed too easy to destroy a Krytopian's heart. I guess I'll see how the rest of this final season goes but I think they will get Clark's heart back to be able to revive him.

- I loved seeing the montage of all the cute and adorable dates Janine Teague and Gregory Eddie went on the Abbott Elementary fourth season premiere episode. And the dates they were planning, it's just so cute. I hope we get to see more of their dates as the season continues. I can't wait to see how their relationship will grow and develop further because right now they are still in the early stages. I'm sure they will have a few issues along the way but for now they are sweet and happy getting to know each other.

- I really like Rescue: Hi-Surf and I'm trying to figure when Captain Harlan "Sonny" Jennings is going to get help for his grief. It's getting worse and he truly needs to talk with a therapist about it. I think Emily "Em" Wright and Will Ready (I believe that's his last name) have really good chemistry. And I'm sure at some point they will get together. Which is why I can't see Will getting married to his fiance Julie (I think that's her name). Because what little of their relationship that's been show, I don't see them working out.

Art of the Day: Lois Lane and Clark Kent

Artwork: Lois and Clark by Irony98 (Syamini Kaushik)

This is truly beautiful artwork of Lois Lane and Clark Kent reconnecting at the Kent family farm from the Justice League movie. The artist captured the moment when Clark heard his mother's truck approaching. It was a happy moment for all of them before Clark had to go join the Justice League to help save the day.

Trailer: Superman & Lois season 4

Shall we start the countdown now? We have a little over two months before the fourth and final season of Superman & Lois will premiere. It's going to be a two hour premeire on Thursday, October 17th at 8:00 PM EST on The CW. This is probably one of my most anticipated shows for the fall season. I know they are going to bring Superman/Clark Kent back, it's just Lois, her sons, the world and us viewers are going to have to deal with his death before it happens. I really want to know how the writers are going to bring him back. Anyway, I can't wait to see this season.

Superman & Lois Season 4 Teaser Trailer

I'm not ready for the beginning of the end of the Superman & Lois TV series. I really wish it wasn't ending. Anyway, here's the teaser trailer for the upcoming fourth season and it's totally piqued my interest. Now I wonder if Clark/Superman is going to return from the "dead" as he does in various stories or are the writers going to create something a little different? As stated in this teaser, the full trailer will be released next Saturday, July 27th. I can't wait to see what else will be shown.

The fourth and final season of Superman & Lois will have a two hour back-to-back episode premiere on Thursday, October 17 at 8:00 PM EST on The CW.

Fashion Meets Comics - Costume Analysis: Lois Lane (Superman & Lois)

I don't know how I missed actress Elizabeth "Bitsie" Tulloch posting Superman & Lois behind the scene pictures on Instagram last month (well Instagram is pretty wonky with not always showing posts). Anyway, she posted some upcoming fourth (and final) season outfits for Lois Lane. I believe both outfits are for a flashback episode or scenes.

Edit to add: Happy 86th Anniversary, Lois Lane and Clark Kent/Superman. Thankfully, this time I didn't completely forget.

Quote: Clark Kent and Lois Lane (Smallville)

Clark: You know...If you spent as much time studying as you did trying to leave, you'd be in college already.

Lois: And where'd you get that pearl of wisdom, the Farmer's Almanac?

Clark: So, what do you think?

Lois: They're not really your colors.

Clark: They're the school's colors.

Lois: I'm glad you made the team, Clark, but why be a conformist? At least with the whole farm boy plaid thing, as lame as it is, it completely belongs to you.

Clark: In the future, let's restrict our conversations to "hello" and "goodbye."

Fandom Friday: Random Fandom Thoughts #15: The Witcher, Natalie Irons and more

Where has the month gone? It's already half way over. But there is still so much fandom stuff that's happening and I want to know what's on your mind?

- The second season of The Witcher premieres today and I can't wait to see it. Although, I loved the first season, the second season looks like it's going to be even better than the first. I really want to know what happened to Yennefer and what big threat they're going up against in this new season.

Art of the Day: Lois Lane and Clark Kent

Artwork: Superwoman by Natasha Townsel

I like this, it's an alternate take where Lois Lane is both a reporter and the superhero, Superwoman while Clark Kent is the intrepid reporter.

Comic Book Wednesday: August 18th Picks

Happy Comic Book Wednesday!

Did you know it was Lois Lane's birthday yesterday? Yeah, I can't believe I forgot especially since she's one of my favorite characters. Do you have a favorite version of the character? There are probably a couple of Lois' that are not my favorite but overall I like reading or seeing different versions of the character. One of my current favorite versions is from Superman & Lois. She may be living in Smallville instead of Metropolis with her husband and kids but she's still one of the best reporters around.

Anyway, what books are you getting today? I only have a few books on my list: Star Wars, Iron Man and Miles Morales. So, when I go to the comic book store, I might see what other books I might find.

Art of the Day: Lois Lane

Artwork: Lois Lane by CaityKitty13

I loved watching the first three seasons of Smallville but when Lois Lane was added to the fourth season it was just what the show needed. Erica Durance brought in so much unexpected energy as Lois that it made an already good show even better.
