Description:

Chicago wizard-for-hire Harry Dresden and his new apprentice, Molly Carpenter, intend to end the havoc caused by a mad sorcerer - one whose ambitions would have the Windy City streets carved out as his own private kingdom. But when the magical upstart enters into an alliance with the notorious mob boss "Gentleman Johnnie" Marcone, will the fast-and-loose Dresden and his young charge survive unscathed?

Rating: 4 stars

Review:

In this miniseries, Dresden was called to a murder scene to see if he can find out what killed store owner Sam Fogle. The man had been horribly murdered and left on the scene had been some kind of ooze.

Along for the journey was Dresden's new apprentice Molly Carpenter who he was helping to train and hone her magical abilities.

From Dresden's investigation he found out that mob boss Johnny Marcone had been offering magical protection to business owners but after two attacks by a golem it's clear that someone was targeting Marcone's customers.

Dresden, Molly and Marcone were soon heading to undertown, a magical city underneath Chicago to stop the sorcerer who was controlling the golem.

I like this, besides getting a complete story it was well written, fast paced and fun to read. This is my second time reading a Dresden File comic book and I really like it, there was a good mix of action, drama and humor. After reading this one I might see if there are other books in the series I might like to read.
