Book Review: Batman Inc. Leviathan Strikes!

Book: Batman Incorporated Leviathan Strikes! by Grant Morrison

Description:

This one-shot story (actually issues #9 and #10) was split between two chapters, with the first focusing on Stephanie Brown's infiltration of an all-girls school that doubles as a training ground for the Leviathan organization. Due to the DC Universe relaunch "The New 52", this would be Stephanie's final appearance as Batgirl.

The second half focused on Bruce WayneDick GraysonTim Drake, and Damian Wayne going up against a Leviathan operative named Doctor Dedalus.

Rating: 4 Stars

My Review:

The first story (issue #9) had Stephanie Brown (Batgirl) going undercover at a school for young ladies. Which was just a school to teach young girls the basics like how to be an assassin, for one. This was a fast-paced story that had Stephanie really using her skills to try to take down the school and to try to find the connection between it and Leviathan. She got a little assistance which she really didn't need. You could tell how much Stephanie's skills had changed since she became Batgirl. She was confident and was no longer second guessing herself. Too bad this was Stephanie's last appearance, I'm glad she had a great story to go out on.

The second story centered on the Batmen (Bruce Wayne and Dick Grayson), Red Robin (Tim Drake) and Robin (Damian Wayne) on a ship, trying to stop a mad man, Doctor Dedalus all while being trapped in a crazy labyrinth. There were a lot of twists and turns in this one and if you have not been reading the Batman Incorporated series you might not be able to follow along without missing a few things. It ended with a cliffhanger, which will tie-in with the rebooted New 52 Batman Incorporated.
