Comic Book Wednesday: 9 Comics on My Read List: Spider-Man, Batman, Superman and Scooby-Doo

I should probably start cutting back on my comics because I read way too many. But I do enjoy them. Anyway, today is Comic Book Wednesday and a few books that I'm interested in, besides the two I mentioned already (Hawkeye and The Movement) are below:

Book: Superior Spider-Man issue #9

Description:

IT ENDS HERE! “SUPERIOR NO MORE!”

The hottest comic in comics comes to a turning point that will get you angrier than you were after Spidey #700! The time has come to see who will live, who will die, and who will emerge as the one, true Superior Spider-Man!
----

I do hope this will be as interesting as they're making it out to be. I really don't want Doc Ock to continue to control Peter's body. But with the way comics are going the dark and grim way, I wouldn't be surprised if Peter is the one whose destroyed and we're stuck with Doc until they figure out another way of returning Peter back to his body.

Book: Legend of the Dark Knight issue #8

Description:

In “Carved,” the new crime wave in Gotham City is stranger than ever. Will Batman solve the puzzle in time to save the citizens’ lives? Plus: The Dark Knight’s investigation into a missing mythological creature created by taxidermy takes a turn for the even more bizarre when he stumbles onto a living version of the creature in “Unnatural Selection!”
-----

Okay, that cover art is horrible but I am really enjoying this series. It's another digital series that goes to print edition. Again, I find this series to be more enjoyable than the main Batman book. This actually feels like Batman and if you're a fan this is something you should be reading.

Book: Action Comics issue #20

Description:

Superman battles an enemy of his own making in the horrible Hybrid—but what else does Lex Luthor have in store for The Man of Steel and the people of Metropolis? Get set to learn some of the secrets behind Luthor’s role in The New 52!
-----

Now if issue #20 is as enjoyable as issue #19 was, than I'll be quite happy. I still want Lois Lane to be included more in this series and the last issue did give us a really good story which also included those great scenes with Lois and Clark interacting.

Book: Aquaman issue #19

Description:

The Ice King takes the throne as the true king of Atlantis—but who will be the first to kneel before him?
----

This series surprised me because it's quite good. And not to mention, Aquaman is one of the best characters in the Justice League book (unlike so many others in that series). Now Raj can be happy if he decides to go as Aquaman again, if The Big Bang Theory has another costume party episode.

Book: Batwing issue #20

Description:

This issue answers the question that’s been on everyone’s mind: Who is Batwing?
----

Duh, DC Comics if only someone at that company could curb the urge to stop announcing spoilers, then you can have this excitement worthy description. We already know who the new Batwing will be all thanks to you. It's Lucius Fox, Jr.

I really did like David Zamvimbe and his stories that took place in Africa, too bad the writers didn't seem to know what to do with him. I liked the fact that he was carrying on the Batman, Inc. fight while not being in Gotham. It was different. Well, we will just have to see how the new Batwing will do. Hopefully the stories will be interesting.

Book: Detective Comics issue #20

Description:

The superhuman transformation of Ignatius Ogilvy is just the tip of the iceberg when an extremely unexpected character comes to The Penguin’s aid! And in the backup story, Emperor Penguin makes a trip to Blackgate Prison he won’t soon forget!
----

Okay, last month's $7.99 issue was a bit costly (for a comic) but the stories were good. I'm starting to think the main Batman book isn't for me anymore because I have been finding all the other Batman related books more interesting to read.

Book: Scooby-Doo, Where Are You? issue #33

Description:

Heavy metal rock band “Smooch” is scared silly when the ghost of Johnny B. Badd shows up and puts on a show-stopping performance! Can Mystery Inc. crack the case and bring back the music?
----

Reading this series is like watching the old episodes of Scooby-Doo, Where Are You? and What's New Scooby-Doo?. DC doesn't seem to carry a lot of kid-friendly comics so it surprises me that Scooby is still hanging in there.

Book: Earth 2 issue #12

Description:

The drums of war begin to sound as the heroes of Earth 2 rally behind Dr. Fate—and a threat from Apokolips becomes all too real!
----

Enjoy this Batman free series while you still can because some how Batman will be added to the series in a future issue. Not sure who the new Bat will be but I feel like they are over marketing Batman. I know it can't be Bruce since on Earth 2, Wonder Woman, Batman and Superman are dead. So it might be interesting to see who it is.

Even though I love Batman, (he is one of my favorite characters) but I'm starting to get the feeling they are stretching the character too thin. They might want to cut back or fans may start to get tired of him.

Book: AME-COMI Girls issue #3

Description:

Introducing Jade, the Green Lantern of the Ame-Comi Universe! But can she stop the new villain known as the Flying Guillotine? Plus: Power Girl goes head-to-head with Star Sapphire!
-----

This is another digital to print edition comic. And if you can get pass some of the wonky character designs there are actually some really good stories to read. Each book features stories on various characters like Wonder Woman, Batgirl, Power Girl and more. The artwork might not be for some because it has an anime feel to it but the series is good.

Are there any comics (digital or print) you plan to read? Let me know.
