Comic Book Wednesday: 9 Books on My To Read List

I don't have a lot of book this week on my to read list. I was surprised there wasn't any independent books I wanted to read this week. I was also surprised there was so many Lois Lane centric books out. Although in one I don't think she's going to fair too well in the end (no surprise there).

So, here's my list:

Marvel

Book: Captain Marvel #14

Part 5 of 5 of The Enemy Within - The Conclusion to the Harrowing five-part Captain Marvel/Avengers Assemble Event is Here! Captain Marvel will end Magnitron's Reign. No matter what it takes. No. Matter. What. It's a deadly flight to the finish!

Book: X-Men #3

Description:

The X-Men find out what Arkea is capable of, and the phrase "rampaging horde" comes to mind. Can Arkea be defeated? Can the X-Men take down one of their own, if that's what it takes? Meanwhile, what's up with Sublime and Rachel? What's up with Bling and Cipher? What's up with Jubilee and Bling?

Book: The Fearless Defenders #7

Description:

I know. You’re still upset about issue 6. But stick with us for a status quo change so big we can’t actually show you anything! Do not judge anyone’s safety by this cover.

DC Comics

Book: Adventures of Superman #3

Description:

Includes digital issues #7-9

Issue #7:

"Faster than a Bullet" part 1 of 3. As a man who can move faster than the speed of light, Superman perceives time a lot differently than we do. In this chapter, the Man of Steel races through space to respond to a distress call from a distant galaxy! Plus, don't miss the simultaneous Lois Lane adventure!

Issue #8:

While Superman is occupied by an alien armageddon somewhere in the far reaches of space, Lois Lane finds her morning occupied by Lex Luthor as he reveals his dastardly plan!

Issue #9:

Superman's day gets even worse when he finds himself trapped in a Kryptonite prison on the planet Apokolips! Meanwhile, Lois Lane's interview with Lex Luthor takes a dastardly turn. "Faster than a Bullet" part 3 of 3.

Book: Detective Comics Annual #2  $4.99

At a time when police are being targeted for assassination, Gotham’s Finest also face a threat from within, as a shape-changing identity thief has infiltrated the GCPD and threatens to destroy it from within. Will he unravel the mystery behind this secretive killer before he loses any more of the few allies he has left on the force?

Book: Batman Inc. #13

Description:

Batman saves the world and loses everything.
----

He's already lost his child what else is there for him to lose. I'm so glad this series is ending.

Book: Smallville Season 11 Special #2  $4.99

Description:

When Lois Lane accepts an assignment outside of Metropolis, she gets more than she bargained for. Follow the Daily Planet’s star reporter to the Congo as she investigates the Angel of the Plateau! “Valkyrie” reintroduces Lana Lang to the series!

Book: Superman Annual #2  $4.99

Description:

What repercussions lurk beneath the surface from Brainiac’s first attack—and how does it all set the stage for the battle of Metropolis? Plus, how can the Man of Steel fight something he can’t physically stop!
-----

I think something horrible is going to happen to Lois Lane in this.

Book: Superboy #22

Description:

Has Superboy met his match: Psycho and the Teen of Steel continue to track down what they believe are H.I.V.E. psi operatives, with the help of Lois Lane — who Superboy feels a bond to that Psycho isn’t revealing. And Kon’s double may complicate things even more!
----

Even with a new writer this still series is still not so great. This issue might be my last if it not good.

Is Captain Marvel any good? I've been meaning to try it for awhile.

I like it. It's well written and fun to read.

I haven't read any of the older Carol Danvers books so I don't know how this series stands up to those.
