Why the Charlie's Angels Remake Didn't Work For Me:

That short lived remake was absolutely horrible. I wish I had never even watched it when it aired. I don't know what was worse the bad acting or the horrible plot for each episode. I didn't like that all the Angels plus Bosley were former criminals and not to mention were some sort of expert at something (similar to how they were in the movies). In the original series almost all the Angels were former police officers (one was a former model).

I think a remake for Charlie's Angels would have worked better if the new "Charlie" and the new "Bosley" were sons of the original characters. They could have been looking to reopen the Townsend Agency and they had hired a bored police office (who was one of the daughters of one of the original Angels) as a private detective. The other two Angels that would be hired didn't need to be related to any of the original Angels but they would have to be in the crime fighting business in some kind of capacity.

The problem with a lot of remakes is they don't take advantage of the original source material or the nostalgia factor. They try too hard to distance themselves from the original that it just comes across as flat (case in point that David E. Kelley Wonder Woman pilot, it was just awful). The original shows were so popular and I don't understand why they don't want to incorporate a little old with the new. They would not only attract new viewers but also the fans of the original series. But they just don't seem to want to do that.
