Do you rate the books you don't finish? I was talking with a friend the other day and she said she doesn't rate them if she didn't finish reading them. I guess for me, I rate the books based on how much I've read so far on whether it's good, bad or boring. I always make a note of saying if I did not finish a book when I review it.
I usually finish reading a lot of books but when I don't why should that stop me from rating it. If what I read is not well written or entertaining the rating should reflect that regardless if I finished reading it or not.

I'm the same. I give it the rating I think it deserves for what I read and I explain why I stopped reading.
And then find something better to read :)
I think the worst DNF books are the ones that start out really good but then lose focus half way through.
