Review:
I thought this was a really cute book. The writing was funny and fast paced with a few twists along the way. I thought all the characters were well written and seemed like the typical middle school kids with mean girls and all. I also like that Zoey had a good relationship with her father, aunt and big brother.
The story focused on Zoey Webber, a fashionista and who loves reading fashion magazines and giving her friends fashion advice. With good news that her middle school has decided to no longer require students to wear uniforms, Zoey along with her two best friends, Priti and Kate do something they have never been able to do before. They went 'Back To School Shopping' but not really finding what she was looking for, Zoey with encouragement from her friends decided to start a fashion blog and start designing her own clothes.
Intially, Zoey's sewing skills were not very good at all, which resulted in some really funny moments as she started getting lessons from her aunt. Zoey's skills did improve to the point that she had designed an outfit for the first day of school. Her skills were not only getting her noticed on her blog from her readers but also from the new school principal, Ms. Austen who was also rather stylish. Zoey was asked by the principal to participate in the school's upcoming fashion show fundraiser for the school band. Since, I don't want to spoil anything, there were quite a few twists in the story that makes for a few anxious situations.
As someone who loves fashion (who doesn't), I thought this was a fabulous book for young fashionistas. I would like to continue reading this series and plan on reading the second book soon.
