Nesting: How Do You Organize Your Books?

When I first thought about that question, my first response would have been I don't organize them I just try to place them where ever I have any available space. But then I actually took a look at my bookcase and realized I do organize some of them but find available space for others. For instance I have a shelf for my comics books in trade edition and on the top shelf I have my Harry Potter books (and a few other hardcovers) and on another shelf I have my Percy Jackson and other Rick Riordan books (and a few others).

The books that I try to find space for are mostly paperbacks because they're small and easy to shelve. On the bottom shelf, I have most of my tall or heavy books such as reference or coffee table books. I have a lot of my other books placed in storage containers to save on space. I also have this really cool wooden crate that I put a lot of my new purchases in (mainly so they're easy to find).

I don't know if that counts as organizing but that's how I arrange them.
