By now, I'm sure everyone has heard about Mark Darcy being killed off in the new Bridget Jones book "Bridget Jones: Mad About The Boy" by Helen Fielding. I wonder why the author decided to release the excerpts that had the spoiler. Was it to keep someone else from doing it? That's possible. Because there are some people out there who actually seem to enjoy spoiling things for others.
Unless the spoiler is just supposed to pique readers interest and there's more to the story that being shown or it could be exactly what is being told. Who knows, until we actually read the book.
It also makes me wonder why the author would kill off such a popular character? Do you think reader will still want to read the book now that they know Mark is dead. Even though the book series is supposed to be about Bridget, Mark seems to have become a fan favorite.
To be honest I had no idea a new Bridget Jones book was being released (October 10th), the spoiler news seems to have kicked up publicity for the book. I really hope the spoiler wasn't just to boost sales. That would suck.
