Book Review: Wolverine and the X-Men #1

Wolverine and the X-Men #1

Book: Wolverine and the X-Men #1 by Jason Latour with illustrations by Mahmud Asrar and color by Israel Silva

Rating: 3 1/2 stars

Review:

In this first issue, Storm and the rest of the faculty at The Jean Grey School of Higher Learning are getting ready for summer school.

Including a new addition to the faculty, Quentin Quire who has recently graduated from the school but will now be a Teaching Assistant. Quentin's not sure he is ready for it especially since he wasn't exactly an ideal student.

With Wolverine off doing his own thing (off world ultimate fighting) and Hank (Beast) on a space discovery, it's up to Storm to get the school ready but with the students being a bit unruly and out of control it's just another thing for her to her to tackle.

The first day of school didn't go too well (which is easy to imagine whether it's mutant or otherwise) and the story ends on a sort of cliffhanger with all the devices at the school and the students phones displaying the Phoenix symbol.

I enjoyed reading this, it was a interesting and funny way to get reacquainted with some of the characters I'm familiar with as well as being introduced to new characters. With the cliffhanger it will be interesting to see what will happen in the next issue.
