Review:
This is a cute and delightful little book that would be perfect for young children because of the easy to follow story and bright colorful pictures.
The story is about a young honey bee who decides to wander away from her hive. As she flies around she meets others including a frog, whom she doesn't treats too well during their first meeting. And even though the she treated the frog rudely, the frog was nice enough (well he did think about having her for a snack) to warn her about a dragonfly that was aiming for her.
And the dragonfly wasn't the only one after her, she found herself being chased by a lizard and a spider. But yet again, she received help from the frog. She decided to go back home after her harrowing adventure, but once she approached her hive, she spots several hornets trying to attack. She sprung into action and instructed her hive to fight back to drive off the hornets.
The story is about responsibility and friendship. As for responsibility, honey bee as the Queen should not have just wandered off and left he hive unprotected and for friendship she learned not to treat others poorly because you never know who you will become friends with.
This is the type of book that's perfect for kids because the story is short and entertaining and has beautiful artwork. It would be great for parents to read out loud or for kids who want to read for themselves.
