Review:
Hyperbole and a Half is based on a blog with the same name. The book is filled with what I would say are essays or short stories about the author's life ranging from the light-hearted (getting lost in the woods) to heavy (dealing with depression).
Prior to reading this I was unfamiliar with the author since I have not visited her blog, I had been recommended this book by a friend who is a frequent visitor to the author's blog. She thought this book was absolutely hilarious.
I did find it to be funny but maybe not as funny as this has been hyped up to be. This is a good solid read. You will laugh but I didn't think it was as amazing as it's being touted by other reviewers.
I found there was no real order to the stories, they flipped back and forth from the past to the present.
This isn't one of those super serious non-fictional books so it would make a good summer read.
Please note for parents, this is not a book for children despite the child like art on the cover and throughout the book.
