Five Things I've Learned From Watching 2 Broke Girls

Last night, I caught up on some of my favorite TV shows and watched a few episodes of 2 Broke Girls that I missed. I found that 2 Broke Girls is one of those shows where you either love it or hate it. Me, I love it! Yes, some of the jokes are hit or miss and sometimes lean towards the offensive side but that’s not even remotely why I like this show. It’s for the characters, Max, Caroline, Han, Earl, Oleg and Sophie. They're wonderfully crazy and zany.

But it's not just the characters that keep me returning to watch the show it's also because Max and Caroline's attempts to go after their dreams. They could have easily just settled and given up but despite being down on their luck and pretty much broke they never stopped believing.

Here are a few things I have learned from watching this show:

Not To Take Yourself So Seriously

It’s safe to say, these characters have absolutely no shame. And if they did, they wouldn’t feel guilty about all the crazy things they get up to. They know how to laugh at themselves and their lives and then move on.

They Don’t Let The Disappointments And Setbacks Stop Them

Despite every little misstep, Max and Caroline continue to be motivated to succeed. Even if they fail, the most important thing is that they tried and then used those mistakes to figure out how to do things differently the next time.

They’re Not Perfect

If they were, this show would be so boring. Max, Caroline, Han, Earl, Oleg and Sophie are so flawed and far from perfect but they're happy just being themselves. They certainly don't care what anyone thinks or whether they're liked, well maybe except for Caroline.

Embrace The Look For Less

Long gone are the days where Caroline could spend a ton of money on her hair, make-up and clothes after she lost all her money she needed to learn how to budget what little money she made. I find that there are a lot of amazing clothes out there that don’t cost a small fortune. Plus, being a little frugal gives you a way to find your own style without following trends.

When Times Are Tough You Find Out Who Your Friends Are

Caroline has virtually zero contact with her friends from her old life, when she found herself broke those old friends were of no help to her. But in her new life when she may be in need of help, Max and the rest of the gang will be there, although begrudgingly, but still there for her.

This show is probably not for everyone but the crass humor and zany characters makes it a fun watch for me.
