Top Five: places to read outside of the house

Curled up on the sofa reading a good book is a favorite for many including myself but sometimes you end up reading somewhere else. Below are five places I found to read:

1. Outside

What's not to love about reading outdoors, it's the perfect combination of fresh air, sunshine and a good book, how can you go wrong?

It doesn't matter if it's an apartment balcony or the local park, being outdoors is one of the best places to read it makes me feel so relaxed. Whether you're reading romance novels at the beach or lying back in the grass in your back yard reading the latest thriller, it's the perfectly tranquil spot.

2. Laundry Mat/Room

My apartment doesn't has a laundry room so that mean I have to head off to the local laundry mat. So besides gathering my laundry I also make sure to take a book. It's surprising how easy it is to read there, the whir of the machines turns into background noise which makes it relaxing to sit back and read while I wait for my clothes to wash and dry.

3. Beauty Salon

Sometimes, I end up getting to my hair appointment a little early or I'm waiting for my stylist to finish with another client, so that gives me some extra time to read. Sitting under the hair dryer is also another great opportunity to squeeze in a little bit of reading.

4. On the Airplane

Traveling by plane whether it's for work or for your own personal time, is another way to find time for reading. But it's also a great way to deter a talkative seatmates (side note: it doesn't always work) and if you're engrossed in a complete page turner you will probably not notice that you arrived at your destination faster than you realized.

5. Dinning Out for One

Whether you're confident enough to sit and enjoy a meal out without having to bring something with you to read, is beside the point. Dining by yourself gives you yet another opportunity to read and it's also a fun way to dine especially during lunch time when you're probably in need of some "me time". It doesn't matter if you're grabbing counter space, a booth all to yourself or wind up sitting at your desk, it's a great way to enjoy your meal and catch up on your reading before going back to work.

Now there are so many different places to read, these are just a tiny few to think about.
