Arrow Wednesdays 8:00PM EST The CW
I finally got caught up with the first two seasons of Arrow and recently watched the first episode of the third season. I thought that episode was really disappointing. Why didn't they just rename it The Oliver and Felicity Show because it's ridiculous that the episode revolved mostly around them. What about the rest of the characters, it would have been nice to see more of them instead that forced romance slowed down the momentum of the show.
It was nice that they introduced Ray Palmer but is there some rule that nearly all the guys (Oliver, Barry Allen and now Ray) must go for Felicity, seriously she's one of the most annoying characters in this series.
I hope the first episode isn't indicative of how the entire third season will go, especially since the quality in the acting, writing and story seriously dropped with this episode. At least there is Laurel finally becoming the Black Canary this season as something to look forward to.
I really wish the creative team would stop with all the flashbacks, there is no need to continue showing Oliver's lost five years. Besides the lackluster and forced romance, the flashbacks also drag down the show. They also need to stop taking inspiration from those boring Nolan Batman movies. This is Green Arrow not Batman and it would be nice if they actually showed that.
The first season got away with being The Dark Arrow because it was actually a good season and season two wasn't bad. However, now it stands out that either they have no idea what to do with this series or they just sit around watching those Nolan Batman movies taking notes instead of coming up with something interesting.
I'm going to watch the rest of the season but I just thought that first episode sucked.

Hate to break it to you but s3 goes downhill real fast, like full speed. It turns into nothing but olicity. But keep watching you are going to LOVE when Laurel becomes Black Canary.
Thanks for the heads up. I am looking forward to seeing how they go about transforming Laurel into Black Canary.
