365 Days of Books of Interest: Day #228: Scarlet Witch vol #1

It's a great time to be a comic book fan because one of my favorite characters, Scarlet Witch was in not one but two movies. I did have an issue with Avengers: Age of Ultron, they left it rather ambiguous as to whether or not Wanda and her brother Pietro were Jewish. And if they were, it's both ridiculous and despicable to have had them join up with HYDRA. To bad they just didn't go with the mutant angle but most likely that aspect is probably owned by 20th Century Fox. All that aside I did enjoy seeing them in the movie. Still wish they had not killed off Quicksilver.

Anyway, from all the new interest in the character, Marvel gave Scarlet Witch an on-going comic book series. That's pretty cool. I can't wait to get this. From the description it looks like Wanda will be traveling around trying to solve magical crimes.

Book: Scarlet Witch volume #1: Witches' Run (issues #1-5) by James Robinson with illustrations by various artists

Description:

Witchcraft is broken - and the SCARLET WITCH is on a journey across the globe to fix it. From the back alleys of Manhattan, to the serene Greek Isles, to the bustling streets of Hong Kong, Wanda will have to face down her foes and find out who her true friends are. But as Wanda solves magical crimes and pieces witchcraft back together, the most important question remains: Who is the mastermind that broke it in the first place?
