Weekend Films: Fences

Merry Christmas and Happy Hanukkah yet again and while I'm sitting here watching a Christmas episode of The Addams Family, I wanted to put up the trailer for the new movie Fences, that's out today. I'm interested in seeing the movie but I'm sure when I'll go see it maybe not today but soon.

The movie is an adaptation of the play that also starred Denzel Washington (who directed the movie)and Viola Davis (who recently was honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame). Also, both actors won Tony Awards in 2010 for Best Lead Actor and Actress for their roles in the play version of Fences.

Fences

Description:

Troy Maxson (Denzel Washington) makes his living as a sanitation worker in 1950s Pittsburgh. Maxson once dreamed of becoming a professional baseball player, but was deemed too old when the major leagues began admitting black athletes. Bitter over his missed opportunity, Troy creates further tension in his family when he squashes his son's (Jovan Adepo) chance to meet a college football recruiter.
