Comic Book Wednesday: June 14th Picks

Good morning, my fellow comic book geeks and nerds. What's everyone picking up this week?

This is another one of those weeks where all I have on my list are my regular books: Wonder Woman, Scooby-Doo and Squirrel Girl. I'm really looking forward to reading Misfit City #2, I will have the review for the first issue up soon.

Anyway, here's my list:

Boom! Studios

Misfit City #2 (of 4)

Book: Misfit City #2 (of 4)

Description:

After examining the treasure map, the girls break into the Captain's house, unaware that they're being followed!

DC Comics

Scooby Apocalypse #14 (Hamner Variant Cover Edition)

Book: Scooby Apocalypse #14

Description:

Velma's brother turns sibling rivalry up to extremes in his quest to rule the monsters...but the creatures are more interested in attacking his skyscraper than in being his loyal subjects. Can Velma, Scooby and the gang stop him from carrying out his plans to mutate the creatures even more? Plus, in the backup story: Brainy super-dog Scrappy-Doo and his pet human kid are hot on the trail of a puzzle. Monsters are migrating, but to where?

Scooby Doo Where Are You #82

Book: Scooby-Doo, Where Are You? #82

Description:

For truckers on a midnight run, an all-night truck stop is a sight for sore eyes...unless it's haunted by the Truck Stop Terror! With truckers running for their lives, and their trucks vanishing, Scooby and Mystery Inc. will need to trade in the Mystery Machine for a big rig and hit the road. With a truckload of Scooby Snacks at stake, will Scooby flee from the Terror, or just eat faster?

Wonder Woman #24

Book: Wonder Woman #24

Description:

'Godwatch' epilogue! With Godwatch's purpose fulfilled, Diana and Cale are forced to confront the choices of the past...and a new direction for the future.

Marvel Comics

Black Panther And The Crew #3

Book: Black Panther and the Crew #3

Description:

When the Black Panther makes it known that he too was an associate of Ezra Miller, the late Harlem community pillar and social activist who died in police custody, the case finds new life.

Was there more to Miller than he let on? Was his activism a front for something larger?

One thing's for certain: What's happening in Harlem is not new. It stretches back decades.

The secret super hero history of the Marvel Universe continues!

Captain America Sam Wilson #23

Book: Captain America: Sam Wilson #23

Description:

SECRET EMPIRE TIE-IN!

Drawn back into the fight, Sam Wilson battles to restore sense to a world in chaos!

But for Hydra, there isn't a need for two Captain Americas!

Unbeatable Squirrel Girl #21

Book: The Unbeatable Squirrel Girl #21

Description:

Squirrel Girl, Nancy, and Mary go to the Negative Zone for the weekend! So Koi Boi, Chipmunk Hunk, and Brain Drain PROMISE to fight any crimes that pop up so that the city will be just as Squirrel Girl left it when she returns! This would be a very short and uneventful issue, except for these facts:

A crime wave begins the second Squirrel Girl leaves

Koi Boi and Chipmunk Hunk are powerless to stop it so things get real bad real quick

And Brain Drain is a nihilist brain in a jar on a robot body which means he's KINDA a pain to be around sometimes?

This special stand-alone issue features friendship, fights, and friendship fights! PLUS other things too, but you'll have to buy the issue to find out, because this is just the solicit text and we don't want to spoil everything. Honestly, you probably shouldn't even be reading these solicits unless you own a comic-book store because they are chock FULL of spoilers!!
