Currently Reading: Snakehead

I've always found mythology to be fascinating and I've read quite a few nonfiction books about the subject. I also really enjoy reading fictional books that reinterpret the stories which includes the various book series by Rick Riordan. I like that he has created so many stories that center around Greek, Roman, Egyptian and Norse mythology. He has even created an imprint line that will publish book by authors who have written about Hindu, Korean and Mayan mythology.

As I was searching through one of my bookcases I spotted Snakehead, I think the description seems interesting and I like the cover. I can't wait to start reading this.

Book: Snakehead by Ann Halam

Edition: Hardcover

Description:

Perseus, the god-touched son of Zeus and a mortal princess, takes his easy life on the lively island of Serifos for granted -- but he knows he lives in troubled times. First the gods and then the politicians send trouble rumbling across land and sea.

When a beautiful stranger, a fugitive from another disaster zone, arrives on the island, Perseus is smitten. But Andromeda isn't all she seems. She must sacrifice herself to save her people, and a stunning, world-changing discovery will disappear with her -- unless Perseus abandons everything to confront the terrifying monster Medusa.
