There was a lot that happened in those seven movies such as someone tried to claim Cassie's house, Cassie's cousin Abigail (Sarah Power) arrived in town stirring up trouble and Jake and Cassie got married and then had their daughter, Grace. A couple of years after the final movie, the Good Witch was turned into a TV series that followed Cassie who was now a widow with a teenage daughter.
The Good Witch is a magic/fantasy series but the magic is subtle with Cassie, Grace (Bailee Madison) and Abigail's powers centering around intuition or a sixth sense. They seem to have a knack for knowing exactly what someone needs at just the right time. And Cassie has a plant/nature approach to life which is why her and the town's new doctor Sam Radford (James Denton) initially clashed because he didn't believe in her alternative approach to medicine.
I can go on and on about the Good Witch but this post should be about tonight's Halloween movie. For anyone who is interested in watching the movie but has never seen any of the movies or any episodes from the TV series, you can still watch it because everything about this franchise is easy to follow.
And not to be forgotten the second episode of Charmed airs tonight at 9:00 PM on The CW. I'm trying to decide if I want to tape Charmed and watch Good Witch or vice-versa. Either way I'm watching one tonight and the other later.
