(Gilmore Girls season 3 promo)
However, I feel like things didn't go like they should have for her and if I could change one thing about the series is that Lane had not gotten married (and had children) so young and especially to Zack Van Gerbig. She should have had the opportunity to pursue her musical dreams and not just with her garage band. But the show failed her because she went from pursuing her dreams to having to put them on the backburner after she became a wife and mom. It's not that there is anything wrong with being a wife and mom but it felt like it was too soon for her character to be at this stage in her life without having the chance to have pursued her dreams.
I always thought she would have made an excellent music journalist/critic for two reasons: her extensive knowledge about music and her unending passion for it. She lived and breathed music and could talk about it for hours. I believed Lane would have been one of the best music critics and she would have loved traveling around attending concerts while also writing about all the things happening in the music industry from new artists and new music being released to appreciating the rock legends. As for her love life, I would like to think she either reconnected with Dave Rygalski or Henry Cho or simply met a guy who was most worthy of being with her instead of feeling like she settled for Zack.
I still haven't watched the Netflix revival miniseries Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life so I don't know if Lane returned to music or not. I just feel like she deserved so much better than never getting a chance to have achieved her dreams.
