It's 2019, a new year which I hope will bring new and exciting changes. What do you hope will change in the new year? Here are five things I hope to see:
#1
I hope for fewer reboots for TV shows and movies. Hollywood needs more creative and original stories.
#2
I hope Poison Ivy will finally get an ongoing comic book series, it's beyond time that the Queen of Green gets to star in her own series.
#3
I hope for a better quality of writing and artwork in comic books and to give new writers and artists a chance. The comic book industry is still an old boys network where the same writers and artists keep getting a majority of the jobs and not because of their talent. This industry definitely is in need of a change.
#4
I hope that more books that are geared towards adults will have creative and unique stories. For some reason, the publishing industry seems to think that adults want dull and boring stories while books aimed at children, middle grade and young adult get an abundance of fun and interesting stories. I really hope that more authors who write for adult readers will step outside the box and give readers more exciting and imaginative stories.
#5
I hope that fandom in general will stop being so negative. I always felt like fandom should be fun and you should be able to enjoy the things you love without being treated poorly by other fans and sometimes creators. What happened to friendly discussions? I know that everyone is not going to like or dislike the same things and nor should they but why can't fans at least be cordial to each other.
I don't know if any of these things I hope for will happen this year but anything is possible. Regardless, I hope everyone will have a good year.
