Reward Yourself
To encourage or motivate a reluctant reader or to tackle your growing To Read List perhaps give an incentive. Maybe after every group of five or whatever number of books you decide to read, you reward yourself. It could be something small like a new bottle of nail polish, a new bookmark, buying a new book (or two), etc.. You can make the reward anything you want just as long as it motivates you to read.
Create a Reading Nook
Having a relaxing place to read is a great way to enjoy and encourage reading. It doesn't require a lot money or space to create a reading nook, you can even set one up in a corner. Just make sure where ever you set up your reading space it's well-lit (you can always add more lighting), quiet and relaxing.
Book to Movie Challenge
With so many books turned into movies, I think it would be cool to do a Book to Movie challenge. Read a book that has been adapted then watch the movie, this is a fun challenge to do throughout the year. It's always interesting to see how the movies are adapted and to see what types of changes are made to the story.
Shop Your Bookcase
Before buying a new book, check your bookshelf to find a book you haven't read. Sometimes we bookworms buy a lot of books but then don't read them all. So, Shopping Your Bookcase will be a good way to rediscover books you probably forgot you bought.
