Should Teen Wolf's Jackson Whittemore and Ethan Steiner Have Gotten a Spin-off Series?

I wish Teen Wolf characters Jackson Whittemore and Ethan Steiner had gotten a spin-off series. I feel like the 17th episode "Werewolves of London" of the sixth and final season was setting up a perfect spin-off with the appearance of Jackson, a werewolf/kanima hybrid and his boyfriend Ethan, a werewolf.

That episode showed Jackson and Ethan in a relationship, living together in a sophisticated apartment in London, England. They ended up having to fight off a pair of hunters who not only ruined their anniversary but their apartment. The supernatural couple made a return to Beacon Hills, California to warn Scott McCall about hunters on the attack.

L to R: Ethan Steiner and Jackson Whittemore            (Teen Wolf season 6 episode 17 "Werewolves of London")

The last time viewers had seen Jackson was the second season finale "Master Plan" where his love for his ex-girlfriend Lydia Martin broke him out of the trance like state of the kanima transformation. However, his time in Beacon Hills, California was over because in the third season premiere episode "Tattoo" it was mentioned by Lydia that Jackson and his family had moved to London. He was as she put it an American Werewolf in London. As for Ethan the last time he appeared was the third season finale "The Divine Move" where he decided to leave Beacon Hills following the death of his twin brother Aiden as well as end things with his boyfriend Danny Mahealani (who was Jackson's best friend).

I always found it interesting that both Jackson and Ethan started out as antagonists to the main character Scott McCall. Prior to turning into a mind-controlled murderous kanima in the second season, Jackson was nothing more than an annoying arrogant bully. While Ethan and his twin brother Aiden were Alpha Werewolves who were part of a murderous Alpha pack of werewolves who showed up in Beacon Hills ready to attack. What I like is that both characters had a bit of a redemption before they respectively left the series in seasons 2 and 3.

I was surprised by how much I really like these two being in a relationship, they both seemed to bring out the best in each other. At the end of the series finale "The Wolves of War", they were back in London, ready to continue the fight that had begun with hunters going after supernatural beings. Which is why I really wish some studio executive would have realized the potential of a spin-off and approved it. I think their relationship and their lives in London were so intriguing and which I thought could have been further developed. It also would have been interesting to know how the world of the supernatural is in Europe and if there was a Nemeton (a magical tree) that drew and attracted supernatural creatures there as well.

Ethan and Jackson not getting a spin-off feel like such a wasted opportunity because just think about how a TV series could have explored what I mentioned above as well as answered the question of how they met? Especially since they had no interaction on the show not with Jackson gone after the second season and Ethan's arrival in the third season. Perhaps they met by chance in London or through Danny who probably kept in contact with them. However they met, I think it would have been an interesting story.

I'm not one for spin-offs but I think Jackson and Ethan are two fascinating characters that should have gotten a spin-off series. What do you think?
