Why does Jane Foster have to be Thor to be an Interesting Character?

I love superheroes but I've always been fascinated by characters that don't have any powers such as Lois Lane who continue to go out there and fight to make a difference. Which is why I'm not excited for the upcoming fourth Thor movie Thor: Love and Thunder with Jane Foster becoming Thor. I always felt like not every character needs to have powers to be a hero or to make a difference.

I know there are fans who see Jane and other characters aside from Batman without powers as boring but they are not. One of the things I loved about Jane in the first two Thor movies (Thor and Thor: The Dark World) was that she was smart and passionate and loved her job as a doctor of Astrophysics and not to mention her unapologetic love for science. I feel like Jane is already an amazing and inspiring character and doesn't need to be Thor to be interesting.

I don't understand this need for Marvel to constantly give Jane superpowers. First, she was Thor in the comic books and now in a new series she has become Valkyrie. What's wrong with her being a normal person, it's been shown countless times that ordinary people can do extraordinary things. So why does Marvel keep pushing for Jane to be a super powered hero?

Even though I'm disappointed that Jane will take on the mantle of Thor, I'm still going to see the movie because I am a huge Thor fan. I'm interested to see what Thor: Love and Thunder will be about.
