Non-Canon Couples Week: Day #3: Sif and Thor (MCU)

Something that always annoyed me about the first two Thor movies was Thor and Dr. Jane Foster's lackluster romance. They had absolutely no chemistry and should have been nothing more than friends. Their supposed romance was boring and completely fizzled on screen.

I don't understand why someone (i.e. the writers, directors, etc.) didn't see the lack of chemistry between Jane and Thor in the first movie and not correct it by making Sif the new love interest in Thor: The Dark World. Despite Sif and Thor's limited scenes in both movies, they had amazing chemistry that should have carried over into a romance. I found Sif to be playful, confident, loyal and unbelievably fierce. Meanwhile, Thor was easygoing, caring, level-headed, a little over-confident and extremely powerful.

It really was a missed opportunity not to have had Thor and Sif together especially since they had such incredible chemistry and played off each other rather well. Their relationship should have evolved from friends to lovers especially since the blueprint was already there. Too bad it never happened and who knows if Sif and Thor will ever see each other again in the MCU.
