Book Girl Thoughts: It's Okay to Take a Reading Break

I have a confession to make, I have been on a week long reading break for nearly three weeks and I'm going to continue it until the end of the month. I haven't read a book since August and I'm okay with that because I needed a break.

I feel like some bookworms feel guilty about taking reading breaks but I found out that if I don't take one, I feel burned out and unmotivated to read. A reading break is a wonderful opportunity to recharge, relax and reignite your love of reading. Otherwise, reading will feel like a chore instead of something you truly enjoy doing.

So, what have I been doing instead of reading? Well, I continue to find books that I'm interested in reading and I'm getting ready for a Fall Read-a-Thon in October. Once my break is over, I'm going to finish reading all my August and September book club and comic book club picks: When in Doubt, Add Butter by Beth Harrison, Grimm Fairy Tales Presents: Robyn Hood: Origns, The Phantom Toll Booth by Norton Jester and Faith Hollywood and Vine.

This reading break is my little vacation and I'm going to keep enjoying it until it's over. So don't forget to take your own reading break.
