Book Girl: Fashion Meets Fandom: Kelly Bundy (Married with Children)

I decided to move all my geek, entertainment and lifestyle post back to The Book Girl's Book Blog. I like my other blog, Truly Outrageous and I created it because I thought I needed to simplify this blog. However, both blogs ended up feeling impersonal plus by moving my post I took away what made this blog special. Not to mention I actually like having all of my post in one spot. So, here is a Fashion Meets Fandom post I had originally posted on the other blog. I'll gradually move some of the other posts over as well.

Married with Children's Kelly Bundy was the ultimate sexually liberated party girl of the 90s. This aspiring model and actress had a fashion style that was a combination of rocker, biker and video vixen. I don't recall Kelly ever worrying about what she was wearing because she was confident and knew she looked great. She totally set the trend for 90s trampy chic while also making a statement with understated feminine casual pieces.

Her fashion staples included short tight mini dresses, flowy spaghetti strap dresses, crop tops, tank tops, off-the-shoulder tops (and dresses), mini and pencil skirts, jackets (especially leather), short shorts and the occasional pair of pants. Her outfits were never without her signature red lipstick and some type of accessory such as belts, bracelets, necklaces (including various large crosses) and earrings.

Kelly had such a rocker chic style that I wanted to highlight that for this inspired look. I incorporated her love of rock and metal bands by selecting a band t-shirt and paired it with a denim jacket and faux leather skirt. I accessorized the look with a simple silver cross but you could always add red lipstick, sunglasses, a few extra pieces of jewelry, patches and pins to the jacket while pairing it with boots to complete the Kelly Bundy look.
