There is no expiration date to be a fan of old TV shows

There's this weird things in fandom where some fans stop talking about a show once it's over. It's as if they think there is some sort of expiration date applied to shows or being a fan. For instance why doesn't anyone talk about Games of Thrones anymore? It was one of the biggest shows on TV yet you barely see anyone talking about it.

This makes me think about how fast pop culture has become. It's as if, once a TV series ends, fans quickly move on to the next big thing. It's strange that no one really talks about a lot of shows that were once popular like The Vampire Diaries and if you do you might sometimes hear "that show's over why are you still talking about". I don't get it, if it's a show you like you don't have to stop talking about it once it's over.

I also notice that new fans to old shows sometime seem embarrassed to even mention the shows they're watching. They always seem to make a comment about being late to watching a show. Why? You're never too late to find a new favorite show, no matter when it originally aired. I love finding new old shows and rewatching some of my old favorites and talking about them.

There really is no expiration date or cut off point in being a fan, if you have an old favorite show and want to talk about it, feel free to. Just because a show is no longer current or popular doesn't mean you have to stop being a fan. Fandom isn't limited to only the present and current stuff, it's about being interested in all the things you enjoy no matter if it's new or old.
