Weekend Films: Black and Blue and Countdown

There is a discussion (or is it more like complaining) going around about Marvel movies or superhero movies in general not being art or cinema and I don't understand why this is even an issue. I love superhero movies and I also love watching a variety of genres. I feel like there are so many different types of movies out there, why should anyone focus on something that doesn't interest them.

Anyway, here's two movies that I want to see the first is an action thriller, Black and Blue. It looks intense with Officer West trying to stay alive to expose corrupt cops. Naomie Harris is an amazing actress and everything that I've seen her in, she never fails to deliver a great performance.

As for the second movie, Countdown, it feels like a new take on the avoiding death horror movies with the inclusion of the modern obsession, the smart phone. Will Quinn survive the countdown? And that question is why I want to see this movie because will she be able to figure out a way to stay alive and not suffer from most likely a horrifying and gruesome death.

What movies are you seeing this weekend?
