Do you want a Teen Wolf Reunion? I Don't, I Want a Book Series!

As much as I love Teen Wolf and the characters I don't want the show to return. What I do want is a book series. It's only been three years since the final episode aired on MTV in 2017 and that's such a short amount of time since it's been off the air to even think about bringing it back. The recent buzz of interest for a reunion show can be attributed to actor Tyler Posey. He starred as main character Scott McCall and he posted this on Twitter on March 26th:
Hey @MTV i think it’s time to bring teen wolf back for new episodes. First Jersey shore family vacation. Now teen wolf high school reunion. I’m ready. And 28 so it’s an appropriate age

Although, I'm a big Teen Wolf fan, it's too soon to even think of a revival or a reunion. I know fans would love to know what happened to the characters after the show ended myself included but instead of bringing it back, why not continue it with a book series. Because even if Teen Wolf did return, the show most likely wouldn't have the budget to focus on so many different characters and stories. In fact, it didn't really have the budget when it originally aired and I highly doubt for a revival the show would receive more money to continue. Which is why I think a book series would be a great way to follow up with the characters while still giving fans complex stories. This is something that I have already written about and it's a topic I never tire of.

I never understood why MTV didn't announce after the show ended that Teen Wolf would continue in novels. It was such a missed opportunity not to have published new stories. With novels, stories could show fans how Scott, Lydia Martin and Stiles Stilinski balanced going to college and dealing with the supernatural. I can just imagine all the stories that could have been written about their time at college especially since they were going to different schools. With Scott at UC Davis (University of California, Davis), Lydia at MIT (Massachusetts Institute of Technology) and Stiles at George Washington University, the stories could have showed how they had to deal with everything on their own without the pack being there to help them. Also, before starting college, Stiles had an internship with the FBI and found out Derek Hale was being (falsely) accused of mass murder, I want to know if and how he was able to clear Derek's name since the final episode didn't really make that clear.

Meanwhile, other stories could focus on Malia Tate, Liam Dunbar, Mason Hewitt, Corey Bryant, Theo Raeken, Dr. Alan Deaton, Chris Argent, Melissa McCall, Sheriff Noah Stilinski and Deputy Jordan Parish trying to protect Beacon Hills while Scott, Lydia and Stiles were away at college. I would also like to know if Derek stayed in Beacon Hills and if so what did he do with his life. It would be cool if he worked with Chris Argent and maybe started up some kind of private investigation solving supernatural mysteries.

It would be great to read about Malia Tate finally traveling to Paris, I wonder if Scott (her boyfriend) went with her. And this would be a good opportunity for them to run into Isaac Lahey (who left at the end of the 3rd season and moved to France) and see what he has been up to after he left Beacon Hills. It really would be interesting to read stories about Isaac as well as stories that follow Jackson Whittemore and Ethan Steiner living in London and dealing with whatever supernatural stuff that happens there. I would also love to know what happened to Kira Yukimura during and after her time in the desert training with the Skinwalkers. I would also love to read about Braeden's mercenary adventures traveling around taking up cases that are connected to the supernatural. This could be a good way to tie-in emissary Marin Morell with her possibly either working with Braeden or simply recommending cases to her. Braeden could also work a few cases with Derek and Chris on occasion whenever she visits Beacon Hills.

See this is why I would love for the series to continue in novels because there are so many possibilities for so many different stories. Books can delve so much further into the story that the show may not be able to due to budget or time restrictions. So, instead of trying to bring the show back to TV, I wish fans would have interest in a book series because it's another way to continue the story.
