Characters Reading: Private Lorraine (Captain America: The First Avenger)

In this scene from Captain America: The First Avenger, Private Lorraine was reading The Stars and Stripes newspaper while Steve Rogers was waiting to see Howard Stark. The scene afterwards always annoyed me since it has Peggy Carter being jealous for no reason. It doesn't matter if Steve and Lorraine shared a kiss, he wasn't dating Peggy and for her to take her jealousy out by shooting at him when he held up the shield was something I didn't like about the movie.

I'm a big Peggy Carter fan but it made absolutely no sense for her to be jealous over Steve's kiss with Lorraine especially since Peggy wasn't even dating Steve.
