On My List: March 27th

There are some books, shows and movies on my list this week that I want to share with everyone.

Books I Want to Read:

From a strange yet interesting fantasy to an enemy to lovers romance, I have to get these books. So as not to be overlooked there is an unofficial The Lord of the Rings cookbook included as well. I love LOTR and wouldn't mind trying out a few inspired recipes.

Book: Piranesi by Susanna Clarke

Description:

From the New York Times bestselling author of Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell, an intoxicating, hypnotic new novel set in a dreamlike alternative reality.

Piranesi’s house is no ordinary building: its rooms are infinite, its corridors endless, its walls are lined with thousands upon thousands of statues, each one different from all the others. Within the labyrinth of halls an ocean is imprisoned; waves thunder up staircases, rooms are flooded in an instant. But Piranesi is not afraid; he understands the tides as he understands the pattern of the labyrinth itself. He lives to explore the house.

There is one other person in the house―a man called The Other, who visits Piranesi twice a week and asks for help with research into A Great and Secret Knowledge. But as Piranesi explores, evidence emerges of another person, and a terrible truth begins to unravel, revealing a world beyond the one Piranesi has always known.

For readers of Neil Gaiman’s The Ocean at the End of the Lane and fans of Madeline Miller’s Circe, Piranesi introduces an astonishing new world, an infinite labyrinth, full of startling images and surreal beauty, haunted by the tides and the clouds.

Book: The Wedding Party by Jasmine Guillory

Description:

Maddie and Theo have two things in common:

1. Alexa is their best friend
2. They hate each other

After an “oops, we made a mistake” night together, neither one can stop thinking about the other. With Alexa's wedding rapidly approaching, Maddie and Theo both share bridal party responsibilities that require more interaction with each other than they're comfortable with. Underneath the sharp barbs they toss at each other is a simmering attraction that won't fade. It builds until they find themselves sneaking off together to release some tension when Alexa isn't looking, agreeing they would end it once the wedding is over. When it’s suddenly pushed up and they only have a few months left of secret rendezvouses, they find themselves regretting that the end is near. Two people this different can’t possibly have a connection other than the purely physical, right?

But as with any engagement with a nemesis, there are unspoken rules that must be abided by. First and foremost, don't fall in love.

TV Shows I Want to Watch:

New Show:

Sky Rojo season 1 (Netflix)

This show looks like it's going to nothing but chaos as these ladies fight for their freedom and I can't wait to watch it.

Starring: Verónica Sánchez, Lali Espósito, Yany Prado, Miguel Ángel Silvestre, Asier Etxeandia, Enric Auquer and more

Description:

Shows I Want to Rewatch:

Ghost Whisperer

I watch a lot of supernatural shows and one I haven't watched in a while is Ghost Whisperer. Some of the hauntings were creepy while some were kind of sweet and heartfelt. I really like this show and I may have to pull the DVDs off the shelf and watch it.

Starring: Jennifer Love Hewitt, David Conrad, Camryn Manheim, Christoph Sanders, Jamie Kennedy, Jay Mohr, Aisha Tyler and more

Description:

Melinda Gordon, a newlywed with the ability to communicate with the earthbound spirits of the recently deceased overcomes skepticism and doubt to help send their important messages to the living and allow the dead to pass on to the other side.

Movies I Want to Watch:

Curious George: Go Wild, Go West

Who doesn't love Curious George, he's so adorable yet he some how causes so much trouble. But he does try to fix the problems he cause. Go Wild, Go West is the most recent movie which I haven't seen but I plan to soon.
