Happy Friday the 13th! What are some of your fandom thoughts?
- I haven't watched the first two episodes of Velma yet but I have been rewatching a lot of other Scooby-Doo shows: The Scooby-Doo & Scrappy Doo Show and Be Cool, Scooby-Doo! I think Be Cool, Scooby-Doo! is so underrated. It's another take on the classic series Scooby-Doo! Where Are You? that's fun and zany that I wish stayed on for more than two seasons. I really love this series, it has a good blend of humor, action, adventure, creepy villains all centered around interesting and sometimes zany mysteries. It feels like this series has gotten so overlooked, I really wish more fans would watch it. It's really good.
- I've been wondering about 9-1-1's second half of the sixth as to where Denny Wilson's storyline will go? Because in the mid-season finale episode Red Flag he asked his parents Henrietta "Hen" and Dr. Karen Wilson about his biological mother Eva. But at the end of the episode he went (without telling his parents) to see his biological dad, Nathaniel Greene. Back in the second season fifth episode Awful People, Nathaniel was introduced to the story by Eva under the guise of him possibly suing for custody of Denny (since he had never given up his rights when Eva asked Hen to adopt Denny). However, Eva's motives only seemed to be about her yet again trying to cause trouble for Hen (who was her ex-girlfriend) and Karen. At the end of that episode Nathaniel had no plan or desire to sue for Denny. He was going to follow Hen and Karen's lead in how they wanted to deal with the situation. I figured they would introduce Denny to Nathaniel at some point but the storyline was never brought up again well I guess until now.
Now I'm wondering, with Denny showing up unannounced will that give Nathaniel a reason to want to be in his life or reintroduce the possibility of his suing Hen and Karen (I hope not)? There's also a safety matter because since we as the viewer didn't actually see Nathaniel (it was implied that it was him) but what if that wasn't him? Or he could have moved. And whoever bought the house is the person that opened the door is a complete stranger that could put Denny in danger? I really don't know what's in store for Denny and his story but I hope it will be interesting.

- Okay, I totally caved and watched all nine of the current episodes of Fire Country (a new episode airs tonight). So far it's an okay show. It's not the most exciting and the writing could be stronger as well as the characters are not that interesting. But the show does have potential to be good. I'm probably going to continue to watch it (maybe not when it airs) to see if the show improves.
After watching the show, I'm really surprised it was quickly renewed for a second season but I'm hopeful that the next season it will be better than it currently is. Also, out of all the characters, Gabriela Perez is my least favorite character. Despite being a rookie firefighter, she's written as being perfect at nearly everything. And not to mention the writing is trying too hard to push this unnecessary love triangle centered around her, her boyfriend Jake and Jake's former best friend Bode (the prison firefighter). I wouldn't be surprised if by the end of the season Bode and and Gabriella end up together. That seems to be what the writers are trying to do. Anyway, if they ever need to get rid of a character, it should be her, since Gabriela is just there to either be perfect or be at the center of unnecessary drama.
