Fashion Meets Fandom: Whitley Gilbert (A Different World)

In the A Different World second season episode I've Got the Muse in Me, Whitley Gilbert was on a health kick for her New Year's Resolution. So besides working out in her dorm room at Gilbert Hall, she was annoying her friend and roommate Kimberly "Kim" Reese by making little comments about being healthy. As well as going to the dorm room of a distressed Winifred "Freddie" Brooks and offering her absolutely zero advice. And that's just her usual Whitley charm.

She did all of that while wearing cute workout clothes. Her look was a gray cropped Hillman College sweatshirt over a pink leotard. I love watching old TV show because you see all the fashion that was standard and trendy of that time. For instance, the cropped top/sweatshirt over a leotard was a typical fitness look of the 80s (this episode originally aired in 1989).

To get the look, I found five fitness/dance pink leotards, however, if you just wanted the look minus the fitness I also included two fashion leotards. And either one could be paired with the sweatshirts I found: two Hillman College sweatshirts (which you could also crop to really get the look) and a cropped sweatshirt.
