ABC and 9-1-1 Still Ignoring Fan Complaints about the Transphobic Actress on the Show

I still find it disappointing that ABC and 9-1-1 continue to ignore fan complaints about transphobic actress Edy Ganem being on the show. I also find it equally disappointing that no one from the cast and crew has spoken out about this. Some of the cast spoke out when cast member Ryan Guzman was caught in a racism scandal. Yet this time, none of cast and crew choose to speak out about a transphobic actress being on the show. The racism scandal was a big enough that fans again were complaining and the entertainment news sites had reported on it. Yet neither 9-1-1 or FOX had anything to say about it. Edit (4/7/24) to add: The Ryan Guzman incident incurred when he made a poor attempt at defending his then fiancé when old Tweets of hers were uncovered. His second apology was a lot more thought out and sincere.

There was another incident involving another cast member and no one in the cast or FOX said anything. It was in regards to recurring actress Coco Brown when she said something homophobic during an Instagram Live which included calling the LGBTQ+ community the Alphabet people. So I guess it's no surprise that no one is speaking out about another recurring actress who is transphobic. The only actor that had been fired from 9-1-1 was Rockmond Dunbar due to the Covid vaccine and his religion.

I find it funny that no entertainment journalists or entertainment news sites have reported about 9-1-1 not only having a transphobic actress in the cast. But also that the show and network are ignoring fan complaints. To me it feels like ABC and 9-1-1 are hoping this controversy will simply be swept away, so they won't have to respond. They can't even muster up a standard run-of-the-mill response that they will look into the matter. But fans shouldn't let the network and show's silence on this issue stop them from continuing to speak out. 9-1-1 is one of my favorite shows and it's very disappointing that no one from the network or show seems to care about how their fans feels about this.

Here's my reminder, if you would like to contact ABC to leave feedback. Here is the link to ABC's Programming Feedback. You can also call, here is the phone number for the ABC Viewer Feedback: 1-818-460-7477.
